Forensic Accountants
Forensic accounting utilises accounting, auditing and investigative skills to assist clients in legal disputes.
Our core tasks involve investigating the case, gathering evidence, the preparation of a clear, well structured report, discussions with the opposing side’s expert and if necessary, giving oral testimony in Court.
Our focus at Cusack Garvey is primarily directed towards civil disputes. These range from business disputes, business interruptions and loss of profit claims, personal injury, professional negligence, insurance claims and fraud investigations to settlements and disputes in marital separation and divorce cases.
Traditionally, most of our Forensic work was prepared on the basis of going to Court. However, in recent years an increasing level of our work now involves mediation and arbitration. This is particularly the case in matrimonial settlements and disputes.
More recently, we have been heavily involved in arbitrating and mediating on industrial relations disputes between management and trade unions. We have also carried out viability reviews under the Croke Park Agreement with a view to getting agreement on restructuring between management and trade unions.
We work with insurance companies, government agencies, plaintiffs and defandants, Solicitors, mediators and financial institutions.
If you’ve found yourself embroiled in one of the situations mentioned above, we can help you. Please contact us at +353 (0)1 210 8455 or email martha@cusackgarvey.ie.
